Come le “persone politicamente esposte” influenzano il business. Un’analisi empirica in Europa.
Abstract
Il ruolo delle persone politicamente esposte in un’impresa è un tema caldo della letteratura di management. Il presente lavoro contribuisce a tale filone scientifico indagando in 28 Stati europei gli effetti della presenza di manager o membri del Cda con connessioni politiche sulle performance operative delle imprese, con particolare attenzione al ruolo delle donne. I risultati mostrano come la presenza di connessioni politiche abbia un effetto negativo per le imprese, anche alla presenza delle donne, le quali, secondo autorevole letteratura, sono più etiche degli uomini. La ricerca suggerisce ai policy-maker di individuare soluzioni legislative che limitino gli effetti negativi delle connessioni politiche.
