Un indice OEE per la stampa delle banconote in Italia
Abstract
Il lavoro indaga alcuni aspetti applicativi dell’indice di Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) per la stampa delle banconote. Mediante l’analisi della serie storica mensile, dal 2014 al 2020, dell’indice di OEE della stamperia della Banca d’Italia, il lavoro indaga, inoltre, l’impatto sull’OEE di alcune misure di riorganizzazione produttiva e dei più recenti eventi pandemici. Il lavoro presenta, altresì, una ricostruzione di alcune scelte applicative con cui il ricercatore si confronta nell’elaborazione di misure dell’OEE.
In this work we present some applied aspects of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) index – the share of manufacturing time that is truly productive – for the Bank of Italy's banknote production plant. The availability of a monthly series of the index from 2014 to 2020 allows the examination, through quantitative techniques, of the impact on the OEE of “firm events” which may arise in other industrial sites as well: a reorganization of working shifts, negotiation with trade unions, management of the challenges brought about more recently by the COVID-19. The paper also offers insights on applied issues a researcher is confronted with when elaborating OEE measures.
